2024 Toy Drive & Holiday Spectacular Event Details
Time and Location
The party will be at the Petersen house at 1220 Michigan Avenue in Evanston from 7pm to 10pm on Saturday, December 7, 2024. We kindly ask that guests refrain from bringing any kind of “hosting gift” and instead focus on bringing toy and book donations.
Toy & Book Drive
This event supports the Evanston Mayor’s Food, Book, and Toy Drive. Like last year, we will be collecting new, unwrapped toys and new and gently used children's books for kids up to 18 years old. In 2023 our one night of donations produced more toys for the downtown Evanston drop-off location than they collected in the entirety of the previous year. This year we want to blow that mark out of the water.
Food & Drinks
A collection of heavy appetizers and an open bar will be provided by Green Spoon Kitchen. The Green Spoon team, led by Chef Maggie Bostick, has experience at some of Chicago's best farm-to-table restaurants. Live Music
The Chicago Jazz Dads, an Evanston-based jazz quartet, will be providing live music throughout the evening. At 8pm the Chicago Jazz Dads will be joined by a special surprise guest to up the holiday cheer.
Close-up Magic
Randy Bernstein, one of the Chicago-land’s most sought-after entertainers, will be performing close-up magic throughout the party.
Other Surprises
This year will see the return of the famous “shots” tree and holiday candy bar as well as the addition of a few new surprises. Don’t forget to share your party memories at our photo site.
Overnight Accommodations
We have reserved a block of rooms at the Graduate Evanston, which is just a short 15 minute walk up the street from our house for any out of town guests or folks looking to make a “staycation” out of the event.
